Face masks. Is there such a thing as a non sweaty one?

I understand the reasons behind face masks. I want to wear a face mask if it protects others, I'm not trying to get out of it.

I've bought a selection of masks over the last few months, but I've not found one that is pleasant to wear for more than a couple of minutes. My face and mask are damp and uncomfortable after only a couple of minutes wear, even sat quietly on the bus. Being 50 and menopausal probably isn't helping me. I just want to claw my face off by the time I'm half way down the first aisle of the supermarket.

Has anyone found a face covering that is comfortable or covers your face without actually touching it?
Apologies if this has been covered, would someone point me in the right direction?

I fimd the blue disposable ones make my face sweat quite quickly, so I made my own, using 2 layers of cotton fabric. There are lots of Youtube tutorials with various designs - the dinner plate ones are good as basic dome shaped masks, but the ones that have slighted extended sections which go across the cheeks are slightly comfier, as there is less elastic pressing into the cheeks. Even with these cotton masks my face is hot and sweaty after 30 mins, and the maximum I've been able to stand was 90 mins, but my nose was running by the end of that.

I haven't yet found a design for a shaped mask which incorporates a filter pocket - I wonder if having a layer of tissue or something similar would help to absorb the sweat slightly? Also, I have some cotton wool layer stuff, the kind they use for quilting... I am thinking of making a mask with a layer of that sewn in, to help keep the shape and also give added protection/better absorption properties.

People recommend 3 layers or 2 layers plus a filter, for efficacy, so bear in mind that a 2 layer mask might not provide as much protection (for you or others). I stuck with 2 layers for comfort, but there's a slight trade off.
