Anyone had a child present with hives?

Sorry I know there are loads of did you have a sore throat etc questions on here but I'm really concerned.
My DC (11) told us yesterday morning she felt itchy. Had a quick look over and nothing untoward.
However she came downstairs at lunchtime and she was covered in hives. Breathing was fine no swelling. I gave her an antihistamine and it calmed down within 15 minutes.
Last night at 2am she woke me up. Hives again, not as bad but there. At this point I wondered if it was her bedding ( new fabric conditioner a couple of weeks ago) so put her in with me and it calmed down of it's own accord.

I was upstairs putting washing away just now as she came up to me. She had been watching a film. Absolutely covered in hives again. Gave her an antihistamine and it has more or less gone now.

I'm trying to think what she might have had different. I've narrowed it down to my fabric conditioner but I would have expected a reaction before now.
She had bubble tea as a gift Christmas day. Had 2 of those Christmas and boxing day but none since.
I even just put my Christmas tablecloth away as that is something else we don't usually have out and it is plastic coated.

So now I'm thinking covid?
No other symptoms.
I work in a hospital and I'm due in tonight but now feel all concerned in general.
The patients I usually see are fairly far along in covid presentation and I've not noticed a rash but as I say they're quite poorly when I see them.
I note zoe app says a rash is. But I just wanted first hand experiences I guess.

She seems fine in herself

Confused either way. Confused

Not tested as this was in March but pretty apparent now that we had it. About a week after getting better Dd1 had hives and DD2 had little clusters of incredibly itchy blisters (looked similar to chicken pox) Very odd

These are definite hives.
And we have had 4 flare ups.

We have no known allergies and it just seems utterly bizarre..
Reading the zoe info doesn't reassure me either

My DS (18) had hives but after what we think was Covid (this was late Jan/early Feb). They appeared and disappeared over a series of days. But this was at the end of the virus.

I have seen it several times for viruses with children, not just Covid. Like others have said the rash tends to come towards the end.
