So today is day 10 and track and trace have called me check on me (again!!). I am much improved but i am still suffering from nausea and fatigue. Im fine all the while im laying down, but very much not ok after about five minutes of activity (think loading the dishwasher wipes me out). They said i need to extend my isolation until ive not had those symptoms for 48 hours.

I received a message from my boss asking how i was when are you coming back to work so i told them what had transpired and got a passive aggressive message back about needing to give other staff members a break after last week etc.

There is a culture in my workplace that unless you are on your deathbed you need to be in work. It is a physically demanding job.

So whilst nothing directly said the implication is there that i have caused a problem.

I forgot to ask track and trace for a text or such like to prove i need to extend isolation.

Believe me when i say ive had enough and need to get out but i genuinely struggling with fatigue and nausea.

What can i do? Its clear my employers think im taking the piss

I hope you feel better soon. You still have symptoms, so shouldn't be returning to work, and it's likely you will take longer to recover if you do.

Your boss should not be putting pressure on you.

Also, do contact your friends! I am sure they would want to help you!

You are clearly still poorly.. I had it back in March .. nine months later I’m still not fit to return to work but ten days after falling ill I certainly wasn’t .. Even making a cup of tea would render me sofa bound for hours afterwards

@Livebythecoast

You can go on the 111 NHS website and get a self isolating note, you fill it in online (sorry, don't know how to link). I doubt a GP would do a sick note as its covid related and they won't be open til 29th anyway. I hope you feel better soon Flowers
Once the initial 10 days were up my GP did all my covid related sick notes and follow ups. There was no question that he wouldn't.

Your friends would be horrified if they thought you were sat in the house running out of food but not wanting to bother them. Your neighbours too. I can see why you wouldnt want to ask one friend to do a huge shop for you but you could ask 2 or 3 people for 20 things each. There may also be a neighbourhood group that would help.

Thankyou so much.

By some miracle ASDA had a delivery slot this evening so ive done a food shop that is one less thing to worry about. Whoever suggested that thankyou, my initial thoughts were no chance but it prompted me to look.

How callous!! Your mother has just died, you e caught covid and are still ill yet your boss is pressuring you to come back to work!

I am shocked!

Do you have a hr department?

Sending Thanks

I am very shaken actually. Even my line manager is less than sympathetic. The attitude is that people been under pressure as a high proportion off with covid so now i should be taking the pressure off.
I was shocked when track and trace told me to extend it.

OP, I'm so sorry for all this for you and for your loss.

good that you managed to get a food delivery. The one thing that everyone can and WILL help with is obtaining food. Almost everywhere has a local support group (try facebook) - there are more click and collect slots and you can send people to do that.

I hope you feel better soon, sorry that you work for arseholes - but if you are ill, that's the way things are. Frankly, how much work could you actually do in this condition anyway?

I wish you the best and hope you feel better soon.
