Why are some people immune?

My toddler and I both caught covid from my work colleague. My husband tested negative. He then re tested at the end of isolation and he was still negative ( 2 weeks later)
We shared the house, rooms, car etc.
Does anyone know why some people dont get it?

Dangerous to assume immune to CP as well. The only way you can know if you have had it is to check antibodies.. not routinely done in the UK. If you have no antibodies then you must avoid anyone with cp symptoms. It can be very unpleasant (and dangerous) for adults.

Agree with others on the assumption that you are immune to certain diseases. I think peoples bodies just react differently to things. Give 10 people the same amount of coronavirus and they will all react differently.

I had the virus that was going around in Dec 2019, took me 6 weeks to feel better. Dp had it for 10 days, Ds for 2 weeks. I got cv in March, in bed for 3 months. Still not right. Then the cat got it in August. He was only around me. So I must have got it again.

Our house had covid. Me, my husband and 4yo tested positive. The 4yo showed barely any symptoms despite having a fever and could have easily been missed. We had classic symptoms and were knackered. We didn’t test our 1 year old but she was either immune or 100% asymptomatic. We thought she may have had it in March but I’m not so sure now. I think she had a different virus as she was quite poorly. There is no way she’d have avoided it being in close proximity to us at home.

My sons in a house share, everyone has it, his girlfriend is quite poorly, he’s just had a negative and no symptoms after isolating with his girlfriend for 10 days. He is also a teacher, 2 students in his class caught it, he said he was very close both of them over a long period of time, he never got it, again isolated for 10 days and a negative test.

Everyone at my work caught covid, I was the only one out of 10 staff who didn't catch it. I only get a cold about once every 5 years, never get stomach bugs, so I suspect I'm quite resistant to viruses, however I'm not taking any chances with covid and taking every precaution to to catch it / pass it on. It worries me that I could catch it and be asymptomatic and possibly pass it on to others.

They need to round up us rarely I'll people and study us more to find out what is going on!
