Anyone had symptoms that felt like a really heavy cold but turned out to be covid?

I've had what feels like a really heavy cold for 4 or 5 days now, sore throat, bunged up and runny nose, very occasional cough, no energy.
I've spent most of my time in bed but don't seem to be improving.
Should I get a covid test or would I be wasting their time?

Yes- just sitting here cursing my heavy congestion, sneezing and sore head on Day 8 ...

My results came back negative ... oh well, better safe than sorry.

Absolutely. I know many who assumed it was a cold. Carried on until symptoms worsened and it turned out to be a cold.

Covid not a cold!

I had a heavy cold and cough back in the summer, got tested and was negative. It is always worth testing, however, remember, positivity rates range between 2% and 10% so that means 98%/90% of people tested, many of whom will have similar symptoms, do not have Covid.
