Does ‘fever’ include chills?

I can’t get warm.

I strongly suspect I have a cold. We have all been sneezing. Everything I’m reading says sneezing = cold, not covid. But I can’t find chills anywhere, including on a list of cold symptoms.

I have heard of several people who have had chills as a symptom.

testingtesting321 · 23/12/2020 14:41

Especially early on and then Go on to develop others

PinkDaffodil2 · 23/12/2020 14:42

What is your temperature? Chills can be a symptom of having a fever.

SquishySquirmy · 23/12/2020 14:42

Often when your body is running a fever, you feel cold (but are actually hot).
Do you have a thermometer?
You probably do need to get tested though sorry.

Keepdistance · 23/12/2020 14:53

Yes its fever or chills

tldr · 23/12/2020 14:54

I’m a totally normal temperature, I just don’t feel it!

I’m certain it’s a cold, but booking test anyhow.

Dh has had covid and he had cycles of chills and fever.

ConfusedcomMum · 23/12/2020 15:00

Yes we all had covid last week in my house and it was most definitely chills but no fever registering on a thermometer. We had the central heating on during the entire day for 4 days straight even with wearing layers, wrapped in blankets and wearing thick socks.

InterfectoremVulpes · 23/12/2020 15:03

Especially if they're multiplying...

tldr · 23/12/2020 15:18

Chills are not multiplying and no control has been lost!

But I did book us tests.

Thanks!

Good job on booking the tests OP. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I had tonsillitis a couple of weeks back and had horrible chills, but my GP told me that's not a fever (I also took my temperature a few times and didn't have a fever)

tldr · 23/12/2020 16:51

I feel ludicrous because I’m sure it’s a cold and my goal has always been for us to be the last people in England to catch it so we’ve been really careful (but have DC in school so...)

OP posts:
testingtesting321 · 23/12/2020 17:58

Try not to feel ludicrous - you’d probably feel more ludicrous if you hadn’t tested because you were so sure it was a cold only to find out if was COVID once you have infected a load of people! You’re absolutely doing the right thing by testing.

tldr · 23/12/2020 18:36

It’s done now.

3 and a half hours from ‘hmmmm’ to being back home after testing. Can’t argue with that.
