I have an 80 yr old MIL who lives 180 miles away in Tier 3. We are in Tier 2. She lives alone (widowed) although has a very big circle of friends locally. She says she would like to form a support bubble with us but we actually think it would be better for her to have a support bubble with people who are more local. She has a lot of friends in the small town she lives in, and has another possible household (her sister and BIL) living about 15 mins drive away.
We are able to visit her approx once every 3 months but not more than that due to other commitments - so we worry that we wouldn't be much good as a local support bubble. The gov guidance does show that support bubbles are meant to be local.
Has anyone got experience of being in a support bubble long distance ? Views / pros and cons ?
Also does anyone know how the rules apply across multiple tiers - so if she's in tier 3 does that mean that we (in tier 2) should behave as if in tier 3 ? (I can't see anything on gov.uk website about this).
