Support Bubble Query

6 replies

This evening is the pits it really is.

I wondered if anyone could help me with my query on support bubbles - specifically for carers of those with disabilities.
It says that a support bubble can be formed where the person requires continuous care ... but there is literally no guidance i can see that gives an outline of what "continuous care" is .

Can anyone help please ?

Day to day help I'd guess. Personal care, meals, household tasks, help with medication etc.

Requiring some help with medication, meal prep, or household tasks certainly wouldn't be enough to qualify as needing continuous care on it's own, although most people who would qualify would have needs in at least some of those areas. Realistically this means individuals who, if they were off an age that could typically live alone, could not do so without near constant support from carers (either because they have ongoing physical needs or because they would be at risk of causing harm to themselves, others, or property).

@olderthanyouthink , thankyou, that's what i hope it means .

I’ve only seen guidance that says support bubbles can be formed for children under 5 with disabilities. If they are over 5 you can’t form a bubble.

@Angel2702
You can form a bubble if the only other adult you live with has a disability that requires continuous care.

@Angel2702 yes you can. Thats why iv asked my question
