We don't live together, but we are in each other's bubble.
She tested negative last Thursday, and this past Monday, but positive on Tuesday. She wasn't told she tested positive until today.
She's been very ill (hence all the tests) ended up in hospital and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
She's home now but I can't see her. She is very weak and having a difficult time. She wasn't told she tested positive until today, so I've been out and about after seeing her earlier this week.
I'm actually quite angry that the hospital took so long to inform her she tested positive, as I would have isolated immediately. The negative test on Monday gave me a false sense of security.
I feel like I've endangered my local community needlessly - if I'd known before now I would not have sent my dc to school for the last few days of term, or done any face to face shopping (despite the masks, etc).
I know the nhs is strained, which is why the test took so long to come back, but surely this should take some sort of priority, to prevent further strain on the nhs due to increased transmission.
Venting.
