What have we become as a society to let this happen 🙁

It's heartbreaking, especially as most of these children will be there due to failings in society already - from the care system, chaotic homes, undiagnosed (and therefore unsupported) mental health problems, neurological disorders ,speech disorders etc etc.

So so so sad. Sad

That article made me feel sick. Evil way to treat vulnerable children who have already been completely let down in life Sad.

It’s awful, how can we treat vulnerable children like this 😢

It sounds bad, but i wonder what the alternative is? Most places are quarantining new arrivals, nursing homes, hospitals, prisons etc so I understand why they feel they need to quarantine. I also wonder how many of them who has been under near constant quarantine would be anyway due to dangerous behaviour, regardless of covid.

This place probably holds some of the uks most troubled and dangerous children, children that have committed serious sexual assaults and rape, children that have killed, children involved in terrorism, arsonists etc, I don’t think the article is as clear cut as it seems, just because they are under children under 18, does not somehow make some of them not as dangerous as adults in a adult prison.

This is what happens when care and treatment services are outsourced to the private sector. It's nothing new, both adults and children are still being detained in totally unacceptable and harmful environments.

It’s crazy isn’t it. No critical thinking applied at all. The infrastructure wasn’t there to test on arrival arrival and regularly. It’s not like it’s a care home and they had to avoid Covid at all costs Angry

@makingmiracles the alternative is not confining children, regardless of what they may or may not have done, to their rooms for days on end. HmmThe organisation was told not to do it, and they still did.

I think this is hideous.
