So worried about my Dad

My dad tested positive at the weekend. I spoke to him and he said he had a cold but he did know it was Covid and didn’t want to worry me. He has got an awful cough and suffers from asthma but is still at home. My Mum also has it but milder symptoms and she is younger, only 51. He is 60.

Not sure what I’m gaining from posting but perhaps some positive stories?

Pondering...I know of 7 over 60s who had it and all said it was that nasty bug, stay in bed thing.

I hope they feel better ASAP Flowers

My dad (67) is diabetic, has got hypertension and a stage 4 cancer and my mum (65) has got a severe asthma and had a very bad pneumonia 10 years ago ( she spent a month in hospital and has damaged lungs since then). They both tested positive at the end of November. We were so worried about them, but they both recovered!
I know it’s scary, but you can recover even with underlying health conditions.
I hope your parents feel better soon 🌸

My dad is 73 with a heart condition, obese and diabetic. He was mildly ill for a week. Please remember that even in the at risk categories, statistically covid is more likely to be mild than not Flowers

They’re otherwise fit and healthy but my dad sounded awful on the phone, he could barely get a sentence out without breaking off to cough.

Does your mum have a pulse oximeter OP? Could she get one quickly? If you're worried about his breathing that's the best thing to use to see what's going on, and if you need to worry. About £25 at Argos or Amazon.

My mum is a pharmacist so I’m hoping that means they will be sensible! Ironically it was in my dads workplace that they caught it (non medical).
