If you tested positive and had a loss of smell/ taste did your smell and taste go completely or were they just significantly dampened?

My taste and smell seem to be damper this evening but I can still smell and taste some stuff. I’ve usually got a very sensitive sense of smell and taste and our dinner was spicy (I kept adding chilli because it tasted bland) but I couldn’t taste it particularly and only knew how spicy it was because my nose started running. My husband usually adds extra chilli but didn’t need to.

I’m not sure if I need full smell/ taste loss for it to be a symptom though?

I woke up with a weird smell in my nose and a funny taste in mouth. By the end of the day it was completely gone. Like completely gone. It was so so strange because my nose was clear. Took about 2 weeks to come back and over a 2 months later my taste and smell is probably only about 90%.

I would say that as of this evening my taste and smell are almost back to normal. I lost them on Monday so this has been pretty quick, it seems. DH’s have been gone for a fortnight now. God knows what the key factors in all this are but I made him take some vitamin D this evening. I’ve been taking a pretty hefty (but safe) dose since testing as deficient in summer and it definitely seems that Covid has hit me less hard than anyone else I know.

Lost my sense of smell and taste. I can just about make out salt if I put it on my tongue.

My symptoms have been quite mild. I have been taking Vitamin D for 3 months. I would encourage others to do the same. There is now very good evidence of the benefits.

I just came across this thread, I lost my smell on 24 dec and tested on Xmas day and was positive. I barely had a mild fever for a day and was generally ok (managed to clean the house before Xmas) but lost my smell and taste. It's been a month and I haven't quite got them back fully. It's funny I can smell a few things like clove and cumin but some days I feel I can't smell anything and taste is totally gone. I am doing a diy smell training thing with a few things at home. Just wanted to see if others who lost it have you got it back and if anything worked?
