These regular tests in schools

I'm not sure if it's Nationwide or just local but our LA has announced a proposal that all school staff will be eligible for regular rapid testing from Jan.

A weekly test for everyone, undertakenon the school site and daily testing for those who are know contacts, avoiding the need to isolate unless the test is positive.

Seems like a good plan. Except, I am currently in isolation following a positive test. I'm due back tomorrow (except we're on a remote timetable until the end of term). I've been told, by test and trace, that any test I do in the next 90 days will likely be positive but no need to self isolate.

So, if I test at school, I will test positive. What happens then? Won't there be huge numbers of either recovered or previously asymptomatic but still testing positive staff unable to be in school?

Do people routinely test positive for a long period after having it?

I work in a care home and if we test positive we are then not retested for 90 days. We didnt know this at first and found people testing positive for weeks after even after they had recovered and completed isolation. I imagine you would have to do the same.

OK, so hopefully they'll do the same in schools. Thank you

I am very pro mass testing in schools.

I think known close contacts of positive cases should be isolating though!
