Should we be alarmed at this new covid-19 variant?

As I’m sure everyone knows by now, there was a new variant of covid discovered in England.

Does this mean we’re back to square one? Does it mean nobody will have immunity to this variant now and that they’ll have to find a vaccine for it too?

Just as we thought we were finally getting on the right path, this comes and hits us.

I want 2021 to be better, don’t think I could bear another year of this bullshit

Virus gonna do what a virus gonna do. They all mutate.

I’m not conspiracy nutter but the reason the new variant has been mentioned is simply to up the fear to hopefully make people comply over Christmas. There’s no current evidence that it’s anything to worry about or was worthy of mention.

@TracyBeakerSoYeah If so can we also expect a u turn on Shapps saying high value individuals dont have to qurantine.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 15/12/2020 02:55

Nothing would surprise me, unless Covid knows which people are high worth individuals so it has promised the government it won't touch them ConfusedHmm

booboo24 · 15/12/2020 07:34

@PhilCornwall1 It was plastered all over the news yesterday and was apparently discovered in the UK on Friday

PhilCornwall1 · 15/12/2020 08:56
