It will start improving in March once the vaccinations have been rolled out to enough people. Only a couple of months to go.

Cyclingwidow15 · 14/12/2020 15:31

Please don’t give up now, things will definitely look brighter come the new year and more vaccines start getting rolled out Flowers

Loopyloui · 14/12/2020 15:52

There is a new variant what if vaccine does not cover it I can't take much more

Oh god no!! When is it going to end, I desperately need normal life back
Mousehole10 · 14/12/2020 16:01

I agree with you. Lockdown didn't work, restrictions aren't working. Scientists have already said the virus isn't going away. Time to just get on with life? I agree waiting for this first phase of vaccinations could be a good idea to see if it works, but then we really need to just get on with it. Yes, some more people will catch it and some may die, but that's the same with all diseases. We can't put life on hold forever.

hamstersarse · 14/12/2020 16:03

Trying to stop a contagious virus is futile.

But still we try

op I had a moment of despair earlier as am in London going into tier three (Apols to those who have been fully restricted almost since March), brexit, etc etc. I just keep thinking we will look back on this. We will get through it. Important to keep as safe as possible.
Support to those struggling and who have lost loved ones or been ill/lost jobs.

We will get through it.

We stop contagious viruses with vaccines. That's how come we don't worry about all children catching smallpox and polio and measles before they turn 5.

And we have several vaccines that we know work on this particular virus (including the new variant of it that Matt Hancock was talking about today), and probably even more coming up. It isn't going to go on forever, it is going to end.

kittensarecute · 15/12/2020 10:43

But when will it end? I don't know how much more I can bear.

TotallyandutterlyMULLED · 15/12/2020 11:15

@kittensarecute, I think it's better to think of it in terms of, when will things start to get better, rather than when will it end?

There won't be a day where Covid suddenly isn't a problem. It will be a gradual process, with lots of sudden acceleration and brakes along the way, I suspect.

We're all struggling. Some more than others of course, but just try and remember, there's a vaccine - no, there are multiple vaccines. One which is already being rolled out and one which should soon be approved.

Just imagine how you'd feel if there was no mention of a vaccine on the horizon.

Sometimes it's worse when you can already see the light, because you then allow yourself to imagine better times and you want it now!

It really is a marathon and you will keep hitting 'the wall'. I hit one yesterday and had a few tears and felt panicky and terribly sad, but then I reminded myself of the above. I'll no doubt hit another, but that's the nature of the beast.

Flowers to all.
