Antibody test

My DH and I have been very cautious all this time as we are in our 60's and although not at high risk we have lost a relative in their 60's with no health problems to covid.
My DD lives and works in London, if she pays for an antibody test and was positive, I'm guessing this would be as safe as one could get, the risk being I guess is that some people do have covid twice.
Am I correct in thinking this?

So, you want your DD to have an antibody test before she comes to visit at Christmas? If you want it, shouldn't you pay for it? And, should you not also be tested, in case you are carrying disease you could pass on to her?

An positive antibody test does not rule out catching or carrying covid so would offer no real protection. The best protection is a period of isolation before visiting.

Well yes but it's not that simple. A positive means she's had it. A negative doesn't necessarily mean she hasn't. The antibody response is variable and the last time I looked, measuring T cell activity was considered a much more reliable marker of past infection. T cell testing is specialised and not readily available I don't think.

My friend currently poorly with covid...had an antibody test a few months ago it said she had covid already.

I did read your post. I didn't like to say so, but it didn't make much sense.
