DH is positive and now I've developed symptoms

Do I test?

Dh is indoors til 11.59pm Thursday and the rest of us are all locked down til 11.59pm Sunday. I understand the rules change tomorrow which means we can all match dh.

I've started coughing today.

Do I test? Or should we all just assume I've got it and adjust our dates? If I assume I'm +ve then we stay in til 11.59pm Tuesday instead?

Or would you test? I presume I need to book a postal test as I'm not allowed out.

You get tested but your other household members start another period of isolation from when you developed symptoms. Timings on gov website. You are allowed out to get the test only. Hope you feel better soon

The other members don't start another period of isolation if the new person tests positive within 14 days of the first person getting symptoms.

If the new person tests positive after the 14 days then they would all start isolation again

Does the change to 10 days count for current periods of isolation then? It’s not only for contacts that happen from tomorrow onwards?

It does count for current periods of isolation so they will reduce from tomorrow

It's for anyone currently isolation and for everyone who starts isolating as of tomorrow.

Yes we were - got thr test results at 6:21am and had phonecalls by midday x
