Feeling hopeless.... Its been a long day.

I'm not sure what I want from this thread but I just need to get this out.

NHS.
Longest day at work today, ended with me driving home, feeling just shit.
Nearly 30% of our inpatient capacity is currently covid, rising rapidly.
I took 5 people to the mortuary today, one after the other, all covid.
Morale is so low, it feels like it's never ending.
I can't risk seeing my family over xmas, I'd never forgive myself if they were to end up in hospital.

Just all total shit.

Thank you for everything you and everyone in the NHS is doing.

Thank you doesn't seem enough but we are so fortunate you are all there.

My parents are in Essex and it is so worrying watching the numbers go up.

The dedication and bravery of NHS staff is truly appreciated. Where would be without people like you? Please accept my thanks, and commiseration for the difficulties of the job at the moment.
