As numbers continue to rise our media is of course focussed on the UK and I've lost track of what is happening in other countries. Are they all experiencing a rise in cases? How are they being managed?

Anyone know how South American and India are doing number wise? They don't seem to get a lot of media time. Unless I've missed it.

How are China doing?

@OverTheRainbow88

That’s interesting about the smoking.

I’ve walked passed smokers and occasionally wondered if I should try and avoid breathing in the smoke that’s been exhaled

If you think about it when you walk past a smoker you can smell it at quite a distance so you must be breathing in some of the air they have breathed out. The same presumably applies if you walk past a person infected with covid.

Cyprus were pretty strict about tourists having to have negative tests etc weren't they? Wonder what went wrong there

Australia recently brought in (and still are) a number of flights where everyone has to have a negative covid test before they get on the plane. There are still several cases a week within the quarantine facility. It’s not enough. Quarantine on arrival is the only thing that is working.

To follow what is going on just go to BBC news, then the "World" tab then select different regions.

Yes, this has happened in New Zealand too - see the recent cases in the Pakistan Cricket Team where 10 or so players tested positive despite all having negative tests before flying.

I think India has the second highest cases after the US. 8 million last time I checked but probably more now.

I didn’t happily accept the extreme ‘circuit breaker’ in South Australia. The Police Commissioner himself wanted an extra 24 hours to see if it would settle down and to help avoid the panic buying that happened. My theory is that the government realised they’d gone too far by banning any exercise or dog walking. There is no doubt in my mind that the pizza bar liar scandal was partly used as political spin to allow them to backtrack from the exercise ban without admitting they’d made a mistake.

As to why I complied when I didn’t agree and the ban had no scientific basis? Police in Australia have shown they have no problem with fining people for minor Covid rule breaches. Plus cops carry guns here Grin
