Downing Street to hold press conference this afternoon

UK government Health Secretary Matt Hancock is to host a virtual press conference from Downing Street later today, it's just been confirmed.

He is going to be joined by NHS England national medical director Steve Powis and chief medical adviser Chris Whitty.

Were we expecting one today?

There will be nothing new coming out of it so why bother....I'm past caring now tbh.

I listen on Radio 5 so I can sort tea at the same time!

Will they say anything we don't already know, I wonder. They usually don't.

I see the Mail Online (insert eye roll) is leading with the headline, 'London is Covid Capital'. Wouldn't surprise me if they're going to announce tighter restrictions there.
