Is there a test centre in walking distance? They accept walk ins (pre booked) with symptoms.
If not, you can drive him (wearing a mask): they treat everyone as if they’re positive anyway precautions-wise.

Got it a couple of weeks ago, started with a mild sore throat and frequent headaches. White lie to get the test as I work for NHS and know that many don't get one of the 3 symptoms until well down the line if at all. Took about 5/6 days before lost smell, cough started day 11! Once you get into Trak and trace app, they give you a much bigger symptom list - a lot of which I had. They don't want to be inundated with test so have narrowed it to 3 - wrong in my book, as that just printed spread unknowingly by those who have it and would of got tested if they had the full list.

Promotes not printed Hmm

Btw, it's totally fine to drive to a test center when isolating, it's in the regs.

Barmyfarmy · 10/12/2020 23:39

Your DC probably needs to be isolating too if both parents are? I know advice probably says they're fine to go out but it's best to be on the safe side and just assume they have it rather than risk going out for tests and usual activities

How would anyone ever have a test if you can't go if you've likely got it? Grin

Don't be daft, course you can go out for a test when isolating- look it up.

OP, hope you're ok. If you're not comfortable about driving to a test centre (knowing you're positive), it might be worth phoning 119. I hada query yesterday and the lady I spoke to was very helpful.

starrynight19 · 11/12/2020 11:18

You can take someone for a test even if your isolating.
You can have ibuprofen , I was told to take it at the hospital.
I’m on day 13 and it’s been really tough. First week was like a head cold / extreme fatigue and nausea then the cough started 7 days later and went onto my chest. Still lacking energy but not like the first week.
I got mine from school as I was isolating due to a positive case in my class , several others tested positive over the first week of isolation.
Hope it’s a mild case for you op and you feel better soon.

trader21c · 11/12/2020 23:02

You can drive them I think if you have transport?

Miseryl · 11/12/2020 23:12

I reseed

ConfusedcomMum · 11/12/2020 23:19

Does anyone have a link to the guidance that says you can travel to a testing centre if self isolating? My partner has tested positive and was told no household members should leave the home until the self isolation period has ended. I've now got symptoms and wanted to get tested but thought I wouldn't be able to leave to go a testing site.

ConfusedcomMum · 12/12/2020 06:31

Brilliant, thanks for that Flagsfiend I will go to get tested today as I'm pretty sure I have the virus.
