Isolation question

I tested positive at the weekend so whole family is isolating. If another family member tests positive this week does that mean the isolation period starts again for everyone?

Yes! As the two week incubation period starts again

Thanks, am I free to go back to work after my 10 days still or do I need to isolate again?

No it doesn't, I thought - but check that diagram like a calendar which counts 10/14 days isolation for family member A, B, C and D. On the NHS website.

Sorry for asking, I’ve Googled and struggling to find any clear guidance

Assuming you stay symptom free, the isolation is 14 days from when the first person in the household developed symptoms.

Article here with a diagram near the bottom: Coronavirus: Virus isolation period extended from seven to 10 days www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53588709

Also on www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection "If you live in the same household as someone with COVID-19
Stay at home for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day the first person in your house developed symptoms or, if they do not have symptoms, from the day their test was taken."
