My dh started with a cold on Saturday but no symptoms of Covid, I sent our dc to school yesterday (Monday) and today, I went to work and dh stayed at home.

Today he developed symptoms so booked a test and went this evening.

I told nursery and school this evening and they’re both now panicking. Nursery are shutting until test comes back negative, if it does! And school are seeking advice from PHE. The head has sent me a very stern email saying I’ve put the community at risk for not isolating my dc sooner!!!

Neither of them have symptoms.

I’ll be thinking twice before doing another test when next ill, too much stress this time!

Please don’t. Just think of the consequences if next time if was a positive that got spread to someone vulnerable.

Send some more snotty emails but keep doing the right thing.

I don’t see that you did anything wrong. You did everything you could. The nursery and school have overreacted

@Gwdihwyou

Today is the 1st the nursery and school have heard about it. The nursery drop my Dd off in the morning so she was with them since 7. My other dc takes himself to school. The nursery and school are both worried that my dc have spread it. Even though they are fit and well!

My work place... also a school are being very good

Fit & well people can go on to develop symptoms or test positive. I appreciate your husband has tested negative & the nursery/school have gone a bit over the top but lots of people are anxious about passing it on, particularly in the run up to Christmas. As a teacher you'll know yourself that schools are being held accountable for outbreaks in their settings so everyone is on edge. Could've been handled better by them but I can understand their anxiety.

@Gwdihwyou I get that the school and nursery have completely gone over board but always seek a test if there are any symptoms. I get that your peed off but your also a teacher who would really risk not only the children in your class but also you would risk your job. Despite them being crappy nothing is worth risking your income especially in the current climate.
