For people who have tested positive, how long did you wait before getting retested?

I work in an area where people can have asymptomatic testing. I had been getting tested every week and last Weds I tested positive so am now isolating for 10 days. I still have no symptoms at all. After the isolation period, I'd like to resume getting regular tests while I still can.

However, I have read that the dead virus can linger for months in your system and you can still get a positive result long after you're still contagious. I don't have to have isolate unnecessarily.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or is there any definitive information about it? Thank you.

I tested positive the 2nd week in May and was asked to retest 2nd week in June, which was negative. Incidentally the first test was 8 weeks after I first had covid symptoms. So it's possible I was still shedding old virus then, but some of the March symptoms had returned more mildly including a raised temperature so who know?

As far as I know you are meant to wait 90 days, but I don't know if that is still the case when mass testing

Point 37 advises waiting 90 days but this is for NHS staff, I guess you need to check with your own work

Thanks for the info 👍

If it's after the 14 day isolation you don't have to isolate anyway do you? Genuine question
