technical question about the Pfizer vaccine (any vaccinators on here?)

So a lot has been said about the fact that it needs to be kept super cold.
But what happens to it between leaving the very cold fridge and being injected in arms?
some complicated defrosting process? Is it mixed with something? Is it still very cold when it goes in?
Sorry that's 3 questions but would be grateful for any info!

@PrivateD00r
That is extremely helpful thank you. Sounds like quite a technical process, will assume the people doing all that know what they are doing!!

Very interesting read. I’ve got my vaccination training on the 15th. I remember doing the mass MMR vaccination programme in the 1990s in schools.

I enjoyed reading it too, I am doing vaccinator training soon as well so wanted to get a head start. Would be interested to know how they are deploying it too care homes. My trust are sending teams of vaccinators to care homes next week, but no info through to us yet on how it is going to work! Also a bit up in the air as to whether we are still starting staff vaccination next week. Interesting times ahead!

I'd recommoend the BBCs How To Vaccinate the World podcast - only 30 mins, loads of experts - including one that talked about just this. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000py6r

The most recent episode of the Podcast had a GP speaking, who's practice has been identified as a vaccine clinic, talking about how very complicated it is going to be to administer the vaccine. What a challenge.

The clinics will run from 8am-8pm. Hope my 60 year old legs will cope with 12 hour shifts!!!
