When do you think social distancing will be removed?

For me, I think we will have social distancing until at least end of 2021. And we might see some normality until Summer 2021. Depending on how fast the vaccine is distributed.

I asked this on another thread but don’t think it ever got answered. How will industries, services etc. be able to function if large numbers of workers are off sick with Covid - not sick enough to be hospitalised but sick enough to need 2 weeks off work? This could happen if self-isolating gets kicked into touch, and if it continues there will be even more people off self-isolating.

I imagine it didn’t get answered because how on Earth would anyone on here know the answer? I doubt the experts in government know the answer at the moment.

Since you’re being so pedantic I suppose what I really meant was did anyone have any opinions - I had intended to say I suspected I wouldn’t get an actual answer, but it sounded rather snippy - but clearly I shouldn’t have let that stop me. Hmm

I suspect that as the vulnerable people start to receive their vaccines and hospital capacity is proven to be "good" there will start to be a shift back to "normal" behaviours when it comes to coughs and illnesses.

You'll likely see office workers who do return to the office take more home working days if they're feeling ill, but you might not see those who work in shops and other industries such as manufacturing continuing to take two weeks off because someone in their household is ill, or because they met someone who is ill.

These expectations may not necessarily match whatever guidelines/rules are officially in place during the next 6-12 months but I do think that people will recognise the improvements in hospital capacity and will start to act accordingly.
