DS to isolate as other pupil positive. Can DH and I split childcare?

My DS is 10 and we just got a text to say he needs to isolate as a close contact (presumably someone in his class) has tested positive. Track and Trace haven't phoned me yet but I wondered about what we as parents have to do. I work part time, DH works full time. Could we split this and DH stays with him the days I work then he can go to work the days I'm at home? Or does one parent need to isolate for 14 days too? Thanks

Just the child that needs to isolate so you can swap care.

If your DS starts to show symptoms then everyone in the house will need to isolate.

Yes you can split it, that’s what everyone I know has had to do in this position.

Yes only he has to isolate - the school should be liasing with PHE who will say as and when the isolation will end

Yes I'm just waiting a call to let me know how long he has to isolate for. Thanks everyone, good to know we can split childcare.

Track and trace probably won't call you. Schools have to handle kid cases.

@MrsHamlet I'm in Scotland and T&T (or whatever it's called here) call the parents. The school has texted to say not to send him on Monday and most parents are now getting calls from T&T to let them know how long to isolate for.

Crap. Just had a call from NHS Track and Trace (Scotland) who said one parent should isolate with our DS and form a 'bubble'. Not sure how we can work this but will have a think.
