Confusing message from nursery

Hi. 3 staff have tested positive at dcs nursery and so they have closed for 2 weeks to allow staff to isolate. The message said that it's “recommended” that my child isolates for 2 weeks. Is this the same as being required to by track and trace? Will obviously keep dc home and well away from people but for me “recommended” Would mean I'd be happy to let them run round a deserted field (we've easy access to several But our own garden is tiny) whereas if test and trace said they had to isolate that equates to not leaving the house at all. Dc is a very active 4yr old.
Have emailed nursery for clarity but nothing back yet tbf it is the weekend!

I think that if someone gets a call from Track and Trace or come back from another country they have Legally have to self isolate., or they could get a fine.

Schools are off the track and trace radar so they are technically acting on behalf of track and trace but they cannot use the same terminology as it has no legal backup.

Moral of the story is: your Dc HAS to self isolate for the period. Don’t take them out, go to the park, send to grandma for childcare, stay in your garden if you have one.

I think it depends on whether the positive staff were in close contact with your DC.

At our local nursery there are strict bubbles in different rooms. If a staff member in a different room was positive you'd not need to isolate. If your child's keyworker that they spend all their time with tested positive then you'd obviously need to isolate your DC.

@rosetintedblue that's exactly what's not clear. Def wasn't dcs keyworker but don't know whether it was someone who had spent time in dcs bubble or not

I think you'll have to wait for the nursery to reply. It might be that your DC hasn't had contact with those staff, but his key workers have and so there's simply nobody to look after the kids (in which case go to the field), or it might be that one of the positive cases has been in the same room as your DC so he has to isolate. Hard to tell from the message what the situation is, so I'd play it safe until you hear back and do outside activities only (don't meet anyone vulnerable) even if he can go out.
