I signed up to a few websites about vaccine trials ages ago and today this one contacted me about participating! Exciting times. Is anyone else hoping to take part?

Did you sign up to the NIHR vaccine registry?
There’s another vaccine on the way too which is in phase 1 development.

I signed up to the following:
NHS COVID-19 vaccine research registry

Not sure if that's the same as the NIHR

Yes it’s the same one. Were you asked to provide much in the way of information about your health to register? I’m just wondering what information the researchers have access to in order find suitable participants.
Depending on the phase of the trial the criteria can be quite extensive.

I also got the email about this today and have filled on the pre-screening form. I’m not 100% sure I’d want to do it now that the vaccines are being rolled out but I figure I can always change my mind. Do I take the 50% chance of gettiimg an early vaccine or do I wait my turn for the definite one? I’m 40 with no health conditions so would be in the lowest priority group for the roll out. But I guess if you are in a trial you can’t have any vaccine unless you come out of the trial, which wouldn’t help the science along!

@Layladylay234 I am also doing the trial. How is yours going? Did you have any symptoms?

Hello, not Janssen but I'm on the Novavax trial. Just to say that on our trial, in part due to lots of people now having to be unblinded as they get offered a vaccine in the normal way, they are now changing the trial into a 'crossover'. Basically everyone that got the placebo will now get the real thing and vv. So we will all know for sure that we've had it, but not necessarily when. This will keep more people blinded in the trial for longer, or that is the hope.
In the meantime there is no issue at all if you need to be unblinded because you have been offered the vaccine.
I wouldn't be surprised if this happened to your trial too. Best of luck.
