Want to show my DCs secondary schools how much I appreciate everything they're doing

I think their schools have been absolutely fantastic handling all aspects of Coronavirus this term. Both my DC have been happy, unfazed and unstressed
since being back. Both have had a couple of self isolating episodes where they received brilliant home learning so their learning hasn't been effected. DS has had mock GCSEs which were handled really well. Both schools literally couldn't have done more. I'd like to send in something to show how grateful I am, but haven't a clue what is allowed during the pandemic. What would make teachers and staff feel appreciated?

Do secondary school really use glue sticks, particularly at the moment (DC's secondary school is scarcely allowing them access to books) - or was the poster thinking of primary schools?

Do your DC do any practical lessons at the moment Redsky?

Well DD is taking Art but she's doing textiles at the moment and has previously been painting so no glue sticks involved in either. Not sure what other practical lessons would use glue sticks? DS is taking A Levels and none of them involve anything practical.

Students do use glue sticks to stick sheets in her books but have to provide their own. They did even before Covid but it's even worse now as the school is very reluctant to allow use of any shared materials - hence my comment upthread about they are scarcely allowed to use the text books. So I was curious to understand if teachers get much use out of glue sticks as they won't be given to students. (Other schools of course may do things differently).

I teach Art & Textiles and my GCSE students have been putting their portfolios/ project boards together this week and last.
We have got through a ton of glue sticks.

Re. Covid and not sharing materials - They each have their own. So 50 (2 classes) to begin with. That’s just me. There are 3 other Art/textiles/photography/3D classes doing the same.

I'm a secondary teacher and it's the letters and emails that I appreciate the most - a card if there are specific teachers but it sounds as if it is the whole school that you are appreciating so a letter/email that the head can share means the world to us. Snacks in the staffroom are great but generally get snaffled by the few people who manage to get there first - I have barely been in the staffroom since we returned at all because we're all trying to social distance from each other.
