People who’ve had Covid - will they be vaccinated too?

Anyone know?

It wouldn’t be necessary if they already have antibodies would it?

My whole family have had it and I’d rather they didn’t have the vaccine if it won’t be of any benefit them.

Under 18s wont be vaccinated except for 16-18 year olds with medical conditions requiring it.

Thank you @scaevola

If the antibodies naturally dont last 6m
it will be shit for

  • anyone with kids the worry of them getting misc or seriously ill
  • anyone who is too young to have it. Possibly having to be off work 2w every time they catch it. (Even if we stop isolating contacts - we could still isolate household too...)
  • we dont know the damage each time you have it is doing.
  • surely each time risk of death or long covid.

Vax
If that only lasts months

  • obviously all vaxs would keep going to the care homes.
  • hopefully the vaxs stop transmission
If they do but dont last long it would be more efficient vaxxing the care home staff.

I dont think people should be ok with children getting this frequently.
Also even at 95% a 1/20 chance of my mum getting it anyway - really hope it does turn out generally mild.
If us and the kids have covid twice a year that is still a worry to me about seeing relatives for their sake.
And also situations where having family over - if the vax doesnt stop them spreading it to others.
Personally I believe natural covid is giving some immunity otherwise london the same areas as last time would be being hit.
Thing is if you vax 20/68m superspreaders (who hadnt already had it) that really would reduce spread providing they cant spread it. So everyone safer.
How much affect will the planned list have on tramsmission, when it is not the main driver (but obviously the main risk).

Thanks bumbley Notice that like the govt we all seem to be confused about this blxxxx virus !!

Keepdistance That would obviously be the best thing to do. How do you catch a superspreader ? Track and trace isn't very efficient.

One important point (that is generally ignored) is to deliberately lead a very healthy life , eat fresh food, take plenty of vitamin C and Bs etc, both in capsule form and naturally .

That's only initially. Some of the vaccines have included children in their trials so maybe in time they will be included. I guess they will see what happens when the most vulnerable are vaccinated and the impact it has. If it's still having too many repercussions around society they may well increase the people who need it. For example the flu vaccination was initially only for the more vulnerable but that is now rolled out to increasing numbers including children.
bumbleymummy · 06/12/2020 10:12

@Aragog Pribabky because uptake in the vulnerable wasn’t great. Parents are much more inclined to consent to vaccines for their children so it was an easy way to increase the numbers of people being vaccinated.

ppeat vitamin d is one to add Smile We could all do with more vitamin d anyway in this part of the world.

I thought both B-Johnson & Hancock are getting jabbed in public, to show the vaccine is safe, even though they have both had covid themselves.

Aragog · 06/12/2020 10:23

So the same may well happen here. It will depend on what happens after the initial vaccination phases.

trulydelicious · 06/12/2020 10:59

This whole situation is becoming more shambolic by the day

I mean, if they are forced to do this

Also, which vaccine? Should each of them all three (Pfizer, Oxford, Moderna) to show they are safe? One each? Why do people keep on talking about the vaccine as if they are all the same?

No one should have to put their health at risk to demonstrate anything. The hard data should be demonstrated by the pharmaceutical companies after long term trials

The hard data should be demonstrated by the ..... companies after long term trials Yes .
