I can’t find info anywhere to say if it is or not. Or whether it’s just advised not to.

Thank you

@MiddleClassMother

You can leave any tiers it's just advised not to. You can even travel in a tier 3 area out of the country.
Thank you for that info.

You can even travel in a tier 3 area out of the country.

But you can't go from England to Wales whichever tier you are travelling from.

We are in lockdown not Tiers at the moment.

It’s that even true from 23-27th? Just that DM is meant to be travelling from England to Wales to stay with DSis and her family for Christmas.

Are people in Wales allowed to travel abroad? If so, are the airports open? If not, presumably they can travel to England to get to an airport?

I don't know. Sorry.

I am hoping that the travel restrictions will be relaxed as we have a similar issue.

@shittingthreeeyedraven

Well I live in tier 3 and work in tier 2 so that will be fun if I can’t travel between the two 🤷‍♀️ And my horses are in tier 2 so I’ll be going that way lots too
You can go for work/education/caring/livestock etc but you have to abide by your L3 rules. So no going into restaurants etc.

But if you're near me I have a 15yo who would tell you it's not permitted but she can look after your horses for you 🤣

@Lissy23 it's not illegal, the guidance says...

if you live in a tier 2 area, you must continue to follow tier 2 rules when you travel to a tier 1 area. Avoid travel to or overnight stays in tier 3 areas other than where necessary, such as for work, education, youth services, to receive medical treatment, or because of caring responsibilities.You can travel through a tier 3 area as a part of a longer journey

I'm pretty sure all cross border travel is fine for the Christmas Period as that was the point in them coming to an agreement.

@FamilyOfAliens

Travel restrictions across the four administrations and between tiers will be lifted to provide a window for households to come together between the 23 and 27 of December.

As I said in a previous post, you're allowed for various reasons, work being one of them, but you have to follow your own tier rules.

So, for example, you shouldn't go into a restaurant or pub, even with your own family. Or arrange to meet others, even
Outside.
