I am in tier two. Can I sit in my friends garden? It will just be the two of us. I can’t seem to find the answer. Thank you

Yes as long as you properly distance.

FreedomIS · 28/11/2020 09:38

Just have your friends over. These measures are unjustifiable and nonsensical.
Seriously, people really need to think about how the government is micro-managing people’s lives. They can’t enforce this ridiculousness.

hellymissy · 28/11/2020 09:41

@FreedomIS I agree the rules are silly but why does that mean ignore them completely? Having friends over of one of them has Covid means you've just spread it unnecessarily amongst a group of people ?!

Scarby9 · 28/11/2020 09:42

Not yet. But once the current extra restrictions period ends on 2nd December, you willbe able to
At the moment, you can go for a walk or visit a public garden etc with the friend, but not visit them indoors or in a private garden.

FreedomIS · 28/11/2020 09:46

@hellymissy

Get a grip. I’m so over it. If people have symptoms of any sickness, stay home and rest, like we have been doing for decades.
Asymptotic spread is not fully proven yet. It’s all BS. Over half the deaths were in care homes and 20% of transmission happened in hospital.

We’re having friends over. We’re living our lives and could give a rat’s * what the government says. A government that is creating hysteria and fear while following faulty science. Whitty and Vallance’s graph was a joke. I was embarrassed for them while they were trying to defend it.

@mrsnw

Have your friend over and have a nice time. Don’t cave-in to the craziness.

BeaufortScale · 28/11/2020 09:54

Here’s the guidance for tier 2:

The OP obviously wants to know what is permitted. If you can't answer her actual question, why bother answering at all?

They clearly do want to adhere to the rules.

tenlittlecygnets · 28/11/2020 10:22

Yes, rule of six in gardens. No inside socialising with people outside your bubble.

FreedomIS · 28/11/2020 10:22

@Calmandmeasured1

Unjust rules are made to be broken! Smile

tenlittlecygnets · 28/11/2020 10:23

Sorry - I was talking about after lockdown.

If you're in England then no, you're not supposed to socialise with anyone outside your household in your garden during lockdown. Can meet in public space and socially distance.

fantasmasgoria1 · 28/11/2020 10:24

I'm in tier 3 and if I wanted a friend round then i would. In my lounge I have a sofa against one wall and another 4 metres opposite so to me I would be distancing.

EffOrf · 28/11/2020 10:29

Rule of 6 in gardens. DH is going to a work leaving gathering in someone's garden later in December, there will be six of them

Ah I had been hoping a real scientist could post. What is your degree in?

Also, you can swear on mumsnet.
