I know it is a way off but how do people feel when I goes back to normal ? Are you anxious just interested to know

OP posts:
Pootle40 · 27/11/2020 22:34

Not anxious at all, literally can't wait for normality. Not anxious now and haven't been since this all started.

MarcelineMissouri · 27/11/2020 22:37

Why would I be anxious about going back to normal? I cannot wait!

wildbarnet · 27/11/2020 22:39

I can't wait but I hear some people are liking these bloody lockdowns !

OP posts:
ValancyRedfern · 27/11/2020 22:39

The only anxiety I feel is that the things I love, such as theatre and live music, will never recover and return to what they were.

BasinHaircut · 27/11/2020 22:41

Normal will never ever again be what’s it was this time last year.

Of course it will. Things returned to normal after the Spanish flu pandemic and they will after this. I for one can’t wait!
Proudpeacock · 27/11/2020 23:04

No but I am aware that it will take some people longer than others to feel comfortable doing things that are safe.

Autumnblooms · 27/11/2020 23:10

It won’t go back to normal, too many leisure’s/businesses/work ways have changed permanently.

Somethings have been good though, like I hope the schools keep the one way system, SO much easier!!

tortoiseshell1985 · 27/11/2020 23:13

Desperate for it but increasingly feeling like the Government is not going to allow that to happen vaccine or not
The economic damage and damage to people's lives in terms of job losses , illness the NHS did not treat "because of covid" among other things means a bleak time ahead
Also the government used fear to control people and that fear has become ingrained

MumUndone · 27/11/2020 23:16

Just the thought of a crowded train, no thanks. More than happy to carry on social distancing!

LindaEllen · 27/11/2020 23:17

I'm anxious, because I have anxiety anyway, and being 'normal' often took quite a lot of courage for me. Things like going out in crowds and even spending time visiting family made me feel on edge, but by forcing myself to do them, over time, they got easier.

This year has allowed me to go right back into my shell, and I'm now at square one.

My dad asked me whether I would come on a socially distanced walk for his birthday, but he wants to go somewhere that's a half hour drive away, and I've never driven there before, and obviously we couldn't share a car.

I just cannot bring myself to do it.

I'd been doing so well, and this has just ruined things, quite frankly.

Juststopswimming · 27/11/2020 23:19

I cant wait. I feel very depressed a lot of the time; but I also believe normality will return very quickly too. I really hope so!

BonnieDundee · 28/11/2020 00:11

No, I feel anxious about continuing to live this weird half life

Flaxmeadow · 28/11/2020 00:20

I don't remember Gov't or science giving any guarantee that we would get back to normal?

We had the warnings from them in March and April, over and over again, that this would not be over quickly, so I'm not entirely sure why people think it would be

OpheliasCrayon · 28/11/2020 00:24

Nothing has changed for me. I a job that constantly risks my health. I'm not fussed about covid and never r will be . I'm CEV but have much more serious medical issues than covid.

Need my tin foil hat right here
Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/11/2020 01:24

Normal will come back. Everyone saying it won't is being ridiculous. People who have anxiety are not representative of the general population who can't wait to get back to normal.

Saoirse7 · 28/11/2020 01:52

I'm looking forward to getting back to normal, going to the cinema, shopping, for dinner etc. I totally empathise with extrovert friends who want to go 'out out' every week like before.

However, I'm a bit of an introvert and will admit my life hasn't changed massively. I prefer spending time at home, cooking, drinking wine etc in my own house.

The only thing about lockdown is that these 'extrovert' friends weren't continually pestering you to go out. Why can't these types of people see you are happy at home and happy for them to go out? I'm not looking forward to the pestering again.

KitKatastrophe · 28/11/2020 03:25

@BasinHaircut

I can see that maybe home working will become more popular/acceptable. But other than that, what about this do you think will stick around long term?

Most people I know cant wait to ditch social distancing, masks and restrictions. I would do so tomorrow, given half a chance. I'm not anxious at all.

Mindymomo · 28/11/2020 06:52

Some people will find it difficult to be comfortable going out and about as normal. I think I am going to struggle being in places like the theatre or cinema with no social distancing, but my family are desperate to go.

PineappleUpsideDownCake · 28/11/2020 06:59

I'm cv and scared. Id like not to be scared for my health sending kids to school mainly.
We've lost a huge chunk of income at atime when we were hoping to build income and syart to save for retirement etc. As no pension. We've enough to get by but am really anxious about the children and uni and pur long term future.

As a family several of us are missing health related appointments. One child has had an operation postponed. I wish when this is over we had the income to go private. We dont.

I want this to be over as Im scared for my health and my childrens for seveeal reasons. I dont think the nhs will quicjly catch up all these appointments either!

Angel2702 · 28/11/2020 07:02

@BasinHaircut

Depends what your normal is though.

We can already do a lot of the things we’d usually do, the kids a tovites are back next week, kids football league is re-starting and we will be able to go back to watch football.

Once we can mix with family again we will be pretty much back to normal for our family.

ThornAmongstRoses · 28/11/2020 07:55

Just the thought of a crowded train, no thanks. More than happy to carry on social distancing!

Do I ever think there will come time where people will get on crowded trains to the point where people are standing up, rubbing bodies, crashing into each other, our faces only inches away from someone else, and us not be in masks and it not even cross our mind that it could be a problem?

It will never happen.

I don’t think we will ever have what we used to have. Like someone else sad, the fear is ingrained to us now.

My dad has said that he will never go into a supermarket again without a face mask. He said that even when the vaccines are ruled out, and infection and death rates are at an all time low, if not near e laugh eradicated, he will still not go to a public place without a mask on.

That’s not normal.

Earlgrey666 · 28/11/2020 08:01

I can't wait and I do believe it will happen

Puppylucky · 28/11/2020 08:02

But people say a lot of things and when the world around them changes, they do to. I don't think your dad will continue to feel like that once the world has moved on - which it will do.
