Would you have had a covid test?

Sat/Sun lethargic - headache
Monday- hot to touch thermometer said 37.6 (forehead) slight sore throat
Tues - insomnia - fatigue - slight sore throat - still hot to touch - headache
Weds - took day off and slept
Thurs - fatigue - eyes hurting - not sure I can taste food the same
Fri - lethargic but fine

Thanks I just don’t feel I’ve had any brunt that’s a key symptom - slight cough at night but I think that’s from lying down and maybe post nasal drip? No snotty nose. Have sneezed a couple of times in the week.

Because when I filled in the form I couldn’t say I had any of the key symptoms. Least I didn’t think I could.

You have a change in your taste and feel hot to the touch. Isn't that two symptoms? Yes, I think you should have got a test.

High temp and possibly lack of taste? Cough? Yup, a test was in order here.

I understand 37.6 doesn't quite meet criteria but 'hot to touch' is enough.

Hopefully you at least isolated yourself and others in the household.

I’ve had two tests.

Sore throat and a cough.

My DH said I was wearing a jumper that’s why I was hot to touch. Also the cough was very slight during the night. Loss of taste and smell very minor like if you have a blocked nose.

Yes you should have got a test!!

You need to be isolating - I think it's too late now for a test, but you should have got one. Yes.

Yep I would. I'm very conscious of being surrounded by positive cases though (ta and school currently having an outbreak) so the minute I feel a little off I will test, even if I don't have one of the "main three" its just not worth the risk of spreading it

It doesn't really matter how minor symptoms were though op, you had them so you test. I honestly don't understand why you didn't. Since when does wearing a jumper in winter put your temperature up to 37.6?

What has prompted you to ask, especially when you clearly still think you were right?

Because I’m still tired - low in energy. But not feeling poorly anymore. I really thought I might have temp cos of the jumper. I didn’t know that didn’t cause a temperature.

Not one covid +ve patient I have looked after has had a snotty nose or been sneezing lots - they are not covid symptoms so I wouldn't factor your lack of them into any decision making regarding testing.

Yes my DD only had a blocked nose and couldn't smell and she tested positive. Ordinarily I would have put it down to a cold but she was off school self isolating as there had been a positive case in her year group so booked a test.
Slightly shocked it was positive so just shows how it spreads so quickly. DD headmaster said that quite a few positives at the school had not been the main 3 symptoms!

Yes I would have. But my local authority encourages you to test fir a variety of precautionary symptoms.

The change to taste would be a red flag.

My dd is having to self isolate after contact with a friend who was bunged up/snotty nose and then tested positive. I would get a test if I was you.

No because I'm retired so would have easily isolated for 2 weeks, if I had been working or had to do stuff I would have.

Day 1 for me was runny nose abs horrible headache. Lost my sense of smell day 2 then tested positive.

Yes. We tested my teen as he had a high temperature. We knew the school was rife with cases. He tested positive.

It's funny how differently people present. My dc were both snotty and sneezy. DD's case looked exactly like a head cold. My friends have just had it too and have been sneezing and bunged up. None of them coughed once.

I've booked today. Shielding so it is very unlikely but I have been to hospital/doctors
Cough, sweating, sore throat, sneezing and headache
