Positive -weird symptoms

I was emailed by work (school) on Sunday as a colleague had tested positive. We had close contact on Thursday so I was asked to isolate. On Monday I had a really bad stomach followed by intense muscular pain in the tops of my legs (like labour!!) and extreme fatigue. I didn't think much to start as I am being investigated for firbromyalgia but it got really intense, I couldn't sleep and I had a weird feeling of impending doom like an anxiety attack. As a result In the middle of the night I booked a drive in test for the next day! (Tuesday) I felt a bit silly the next day as had to keep the kids off school etc. Got my result today and it's bloody positive! So glad I followed my instincts as not one of my symptoms matched those required for testing and I'd have carried on sending my kids off to school and to my sisters (childcare bubble)

I'm fine now, nothing more than fatigue but that is usual for me and I'm not sleeping well anyway as busy at work. I've even taught my lessons today virtually from home.

Was wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms to me? I was looking up anecdotal evidence for ages before I finally booked the test and it seems like quite a few people had upset tummies.

Keeping my fingers crossed my kids are ok.... and that I'm ok after 14 days home with them Confused

That feeling of impending doom is what I had in March and is actually quite widely described by people who have had covid. To me , it felt like a 10 day long panic attack.

Upset stomachs ,too. And yet, again, not on symptoms list. One of the most common symptoms in children..

Hoep you stay well.(ish)

Thanks. I just want to go to bed for a few days tbh. I have no throat or temperature symptoms but I am exhausted! My contract finishes on Monday so holding out til then!

If this is the case then there may have been so many more people who've had it without knowing!

That anxiety is something else, I'm ok mostly now but it keeps popping up again randomly throughout the day!

Ah. That's not good. Nor helpful. (As in those symptoms are getting ignored officially by authorities) get well soon and thanks for posting.

I had this leg pain earlier! It was awful. Labour pain is a really good way of describing it. Mine settled following taking Paracetamol and Ibuprofen but it was really unsettling.

Lots of people are reporting weird symptoms, to be honest, I think it's a weird illness.

I developed symptoms 6 days ago and tested positive. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks

QueenOfPain · 25/11/2020 21:06

There’s definitely emerging themes of a “gastro” covid, particularly in children.

Interesting. I've seen that sense of impending doom a handful of times in my job (HCP). I remember being told about it as a student by a mentor and have always taken it seriously even if it's the only presenting symptom. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Doryhunky · 25/11/2020 21:10

I had shooting pains all down
My legs.

I actually have fibromyalgia.
I too had, what I am now convinced was Covid late Feb, early March.
I started much like you describe, with the pain in legs, fatigue etc., and put it down to fibro. Then I got awful pains in my hands, hips, everywhere.
Then, after about a week, I got a feeling like a heavy weight in my chest, a slight cough (nothing much) and a pain around my back. Then I got really bad fatigue, my temp was going up and down, then a rash, then 'covid toes'.
This was before testing, but I would say for sure that for me, it started like fibro, then developed.

A couple of weeks later, my elderly dad got severe stomach upset, a rash, and aches and pains ( I had seen him at the start of my symptoms, when I thought it was just fibro...
The good news is, I was fully recovered after a couple of weeks, and I'm in my late fifties, (just to reassure you). My dad, in his late 80s, also made a full recovery.

Hope you make a full recovery, and feel better soon OP.

I had the chills quite badly and an upset stomach for around 5 days. Not enough to send me to bed. I could still function normally. I phoned my HT who said that my symptoms weren’t on the list so to carry on at work as normal.... ‘No, I don’t think you qualify for a test’.
Now gastro problems have been found to be very common with Covid cases.
Very worrying.

LondonlovesLola · 25/11/2020 21:31

No ‘cough’ btw.

nevergoingoutagain · 25/11/2020 22:07

Wow sounds like a few people have experienced "unusual" symptoms.

Not with COVID but when I had sepsis I had the impending doom feeling and was sobbing to my GP and I didn't even really know why!

Get well soon OP

I have dealt with a lot of covid cases at work and many haven't had the symptoms described....
some continued to come to work as they didn't feel they needed to be off sick, then got very poorly quickly ... scary

lazylockdowner · 25/11/2020 23:11

I had the same symptoms op my legs were agony And was absolutely shattered and just felt rough also work in primary school but my test was negative

nevergoingoutagain · 25/11/2020 23:18

I fully expected mine to be negative, was so shocked! There's loads of talk of false negatives on another thread as the test is something like 70% accurate.

I just now feel like all the isolation in the world won't help if people have no idea that their symptoms are relevant and therefore don't isolate 🤷🏻‍♀️

Seems like vaccination is he only answer right now.
