Has anyone else been following this story?

A hairdressers in Kirklees/Bradford (border area) is refusing to shut and Kirkless council keep issuing fines. The latest fine is £10,000, which takes the total fines to 27k

These two council areas in West Yorkshire have consistently had some of the highest rates of infection in the UK.

The council are saying they will force the shop to shut today, Wednesday. What should be done?

There is a shop near us - a factory outlet type place - that has stayed open - I have no idea how they justify it as they don't sell anything you could possibly deem essential - but I have yet to see anyone in there so hopefully it is costing them more to stay open than to close. I live in an area where the rates are going through the roof. I just checked their website - they sell facemasks! Oh well that's OK then... Hmm

There’s nothing funnier than watching freedom of the land/Magna Carta loons finding out that the law doesn’t work the way google told them it does.

I presume at some point they’ll actually have to take her to court as I doubt they’ll be getting money for the fine.

It is interesting that I have a couple of conspiracy theory people on my feed. I have noticed that cases are rapidly rising from a very low level in the areas where they live. Definitely heading for tier 2/3. Is it complacency or something else I woder?

Well the owner definitely got her legal advice out of a book written in crayon.
