Would you let a child with a sore throat go to school in current circumstances?
Eldest DD woke this morning with a bit of a sore throat and phlegm.
No cough, no temperature.
Offered her to stay off and go back to bed (Would have had to stay in house on own for around 15 minutes whilst dropping the other two off) but she said she didn't feel ill and her throat didn't hurt in the way that it would stop her doing anything.
Have let her go in but wonder if really I should have insisted she stays home.
The other Y6 class is currently off with a case of covid so don't know if I should really of kept her off. Both Y6 classes spend break and dinner together. Don't know if DD plays with the person who has covid but know she tends to play with those her in class.

It's not one of the three symptons we're meant to worry about but personally, I'd have kept her off for a day or so to see if symptons change (I know of a case where child had stomach pains and covid symptons came out three days later though). Also, knowing there has been a case in the other class and they can't totally distance, I'd have wanted to know how close and what contact she'd had with the positive case.

Thanks,
Unfortunately school have decided our class don't need to stay off even though both classes are allowed to play together and a few of us have asked if they are able to tell us which child it was so we can check if our child does play with that child but they said they aren't allowed to tell us. When indoors they are kept in their class bubbles but when outside its year bubbles.
Mine doesn't really play with anyone in the other class and tends to play with the same 4 girls every day.
The other class are due back tomorrow so don't know if that means more of a chance or less of a chance of DD catching it if she did play with the child?
We are UK so in lockdown so DD and siblings have not been anywhere other than school.

We have been told to send them in unless high temp, continuous cough or loss of taste or smell. Otherwise to send in, and also if we would send them in before lockdown to do so now.
