Anyone else in greater Manchester don't believe the drop in cases?

I live in Tameside, and up till a fortnight ago Tameside was in top 10 areas for cases alongside neighbouring boroughs of Greater Manchester .
We have been in restrictions pretty much since March apart from 11 days in July when we were moved to tier 3.
Tier 3 didn't really do much and cases increased rapidly
Now after this new lockdown cases according to figures have dropped dramatically across all of Greater Manchester.
However this doesn't make sense when you know of schools having to close because of repeated cases everywhere.
Community pages have numerous people with posts having it and hospitals cancelling surgery and appointments but somehow this magic lockdown which really isn't much difference other than pubs and restaurants shut now as we have been in tighter restrictions than other areas since forever.

So it doesn't make sense why this lockdown (with schools open and more people not following rules) has had a dramatic decrease in cases but yet in March/April it didn't decrease like that.
The story in schools tell a different picture so I don't believe the figures that everywhere is decreasing in cases.
I do feel they are fudging the figures to open up for Xmas shopping but wondering does anyone else feel the same that you know there is a high rate in the area due to schools with cases but the figures say different.

Any other people in areas that don't match up with the official figures?
