Husband and I both positive - any point getting kids tested?

So I tested positive on Tuesday, husband got his result this morning. Kids are 11, 14 and 16. All fine, but 14 yr old just started coughing. They are obvs all isolating for two weeks anyway, do I need to get them tested?

I must admit I am still amused at the idea that we must test DC to boost numbers to make cases in schools look worse.... even when they definitely didn't catch it there or attend school to spread it round (like in my case and op's) Smile Very interesting rationale.

I was happy to see was later changed due to so many being unhappy with it

You know that was me that wrote both thread titles and that I was rather taking the piss?

even when they definitely didn't catch it there

How do you know that in the OP’s case? We need more testing of kids.

I booked a test online, did not need to talk to anyone - ticked one symptom and got a slot.

Wow - so this moved on. So, coughing child hasn't coughed since and admitted he was just feeling a bit paranoid. So all three kids still asymptomatic and will stay in isolation for 14 days as expected. If we were to lie and get them tested now, they might get a positive result - but then u isolate from when symptoms started, and they don't have any...so that would mean 10 days from the test, resulting in longer isolation, probably unnecessarily. So I'm happy not to test unless they get actual symptoms

Good luck - hope you all stay well Flowers

One thought crossed my mind, is the accuracy of the data of daily positive cases we receive if some [people are not having tests.

If all 4 of your DC have it, they wont be included in the figures so a true picture of the number of cases and spread wont be known.
