has anyone had a test come back negative but still feel like then have symptoms? I'm aware this is possible as the testbis only 70% accurate apparently, just wondering if that's happened to anyone who's subsequently tested positive.
My DC was on day 10 of isolation from school when I started to feel ill, as kid sits next to in many lessons has tested positive. He had and continues to have no symptoms.
My symptoms were mild but my temp started to go up to 38 on Wednesday afternoon and then kept fluctuating between normal and slight temp all day Wednesday and Thursday. I had pins and needles in my hands on and off all week, slight cough, sore tickly throat and very sore throbbing eyeballs. Constant headache all week. Taste and smell seem ok. My period, which wasn't due, came yesterday on day 16 (I have read that covid can interupt the woman's mentrual cycle, though I am late 40s so could be a peri menopause thing)
Anyway, I thought this was enough to get a test so went for the drive through one on Thursday. Results came back negative late last night.
I feel a bit better today after a long sleep and not having to work.
Do I just have a normal cold? Are the chance of a false negative greater because my symptoms are mild? The guy doing the test broke the stick initially and had to go back in the portacabin and get another one but the test seemed thorough, though wasn't as bad as I had expected (didn't make me gag)
