We've had to close our first bubble at school today. A member of staff tested positive after being in school (and getting sent home) with symptoms on Monday.

He'd caught it from his mother who, if he'd followed the current rules he wouldn't have seen. He had a good reason, but that's the point, everyone has a reason.

Anyway, if he'd followed the rules, hadn't seen his mother and/or had isolated as soon as he had symptoms the bubble would still be open.

I know people think the rules are stupid, I've agreed many times that some seem counterintuitive, especially when you're working in school, although I have followed them throughout but, if followed, they will make a difference to cases and school closures.

The rules are fucking stupid though.

DDs are at same school different years.

They've both had to stay off a couple times this term due to a case/ suspected case in year group.

But not together. So. DD2 had to stay off for 10 days or whatever. DD 1 was still to go to school.

But obviously we live together in a house. So if they are worried about transmission, why was DD1 still to go to school?

In the face of such an immense lack of logic. You just think. They don't know what the fuck they're doing really.

Contacts of confirmed cases have to isolate. If you started isolating contacts of contacts it would get ridiculous, no one would be leaving the house.
