Constantly smelling dog poo after covid

This might sound odd but I am left with the smell of dog poo constantly in my nose after losing my sense of smell and taste from covid. I had covid early October and it's just not going back to normal! It's literally so strong it's like the dog poo is up my nose.

Anyone else had a distorted smell? It's made me so paranoid that I stink to the point where I shower multiple times a day

I'm on day 11, still weak and sick and only able to lie in bed sweating and groaning (and coughing obvs) and THIS IS WHAT YOU GIVE ME TO LOOK FORWARD TO???? DOG SHIT NOSE???

I have always had hyperosmia - I can detect tiny whiffs of anything, my friends call me to their house if they can't find the source of a smell - so my powers are are going to go haywire aren't they.

I'm hoping, however, that my current loathing of anything sweet tasting will last long enough that I'll lose some weight.

I had suspected Covid in March and lost my sense of smell but didn’t realise until it came back as I was so ill .. my taste buds didn’t return for a long time . When it came back I drove everyone mad convinced there was a fishy smell in the kitchen . Then I couid smell sausages on a BBQ at 2 am . I get a phantom burning smell even now

How can you be certain it's DOG shit?

A quick update!!

The dog poo smell eventually went and my senses returned probably about 80%, but the past week meat and toothpaste has been smelling disgusting. I would describe it as something rotting or those disgusting smelling antibiotics you can get. It was so bad that I was nearly being sick and couldn't sleep all night! I saw on the news yesterday or the day before that your sense of smell can change for months after covid so I suppose this is what's happening.
