Anyone actually been fined? I'm thinking of keeping DD home as Covid has now thoroughly hit her school and it really doesn't feel safe. I would rather be honest about it but not if it cost me for every week I keep her off. Anyone in the same situation?

It's a tough time. Nice to be able to help xx

I have kept my son home from the start. Council contacted me last Thursday. I don't know if we'll be fined or not, but don't care. If fined we'll go to court and sue the gov for negligent endangerment. I don't care who says what. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I am vulnerable. And have enough braincells to comprehend that all the fricking hand washing does jack against an airborne virus. Unless they halve the classes (=sd made possible) and mandatory mask wearing without idiotic excuses for half the class no one can make me endanger my and my family's life.

@MrGruWeLoveYou
Thanks for the info! It's good to know that honesty is appreciated, at least there we surely scored many points. :)

@MrGruWeLoveYou thanks that's really helpful for the rest of us too. Do you think it will be just secondary closed or primaries too?

MrGruWeLoveYou · 17/11/2020 23:35

I think definitely secondaries will close at least a week early , probably not primaries if they can carry on. But it really is only my guess. Having said that I would love for it all not to be necessary!
