Bit scared - daughter just tested positive

Took my daughter for a test on Friday, she'd had a low level headache for a couple of days but otherwise no other symptoms - but 200 kids in her school bubble including her have been told to isolate for 14 days from her school as they'd been in contact with someone who has the virus. Didn't expect her to be positive AT ALL - but she is. Me and my husband have developed sore throats in the last 24 hours and I'm so scared, obviously we're all isolating now but what should I expect, is there anything we can do to help ourselves?

Try not to panic. This is a mild illness for the huge majority of people. Both my children and I had it in March (no testing available then but all classic symptoms). It was an inconvenience but nothing to worry about.
Make sure you have paracetamol and ibuprofen in, should anyone develop a temperature. Drink lots of fluids. I think there’s some evidence of Vit D and C helping, so there can’t be too much harm in taking them or a multi vit if you have them.
My suggestion would be to not all stay within very close proximity as much as possible (I slept on DS’s floor for 2 nights and think I had a big viral load as a result and worse symptoms than my other half as a result).
Make sure you don’t leave the house at all. And call in help if you need it from family and friends.
I hope you’re all okay Flowers

Please don’t be scared, it is overwhelming likely that all will be fine.

Please try not to panic, however I k ow how difficult that is as a parent, we have just been through this and we made sure to keep up our fluids, painkillers for us and dc when required, get someone to do your food shopping so you have enough supplies.
Some of the symptoms can be a awful, I found the headache was so intense. Honestly and the nerve pain, but all treatable with painkillers.

We’ve survived it twice, it’s an unpleasant virus. Lots of soup, liquids, hot baths/showers twice a day got me through it. 4head helped with the headache more than paracetamol, as did lying on my shakti mat.
I insisted on windows open as much as possible, we all slept separately, and spent time in the garden.

Please try not to panic. We are in the midst of an outbreak in our house! I tested positive on 3rd Nov, followed by my son and dh. They both have asthma and my ds has a history of hospital admissions for pneumonia. I was absolutely devastated when they both started showing symptoms a week ago. Ds had high temp and complained of headaches. Symptoms only lasted one day and he’s now absolutely fine. DH 5 days in and managing. I’ve been the worst hit with incredible fatigue, headaches and cough. It’s not been pleasant but it’s manageable.
