He was a truly evil man and he deserved to suffer. And I hope he suffered long and hard.
Another here who was living in the shadow of his murders - in Leeds. If I went out anywhere with my girlfriends we never went anywhere on our own because we were all terrified of him.
At one stage my dad was even interviewed by the police as, bizarrely, a description of the Ripper had been given which was my dad to a 't'. (Clearly it wasn't him, as my dad was a red head and looked nothing like Peter Sutfliffe - but it was a truly worrying time - not only being fearful of what was going on, but then wondering if it could possibly be true that the Ripper was my dad!)
