I've nc for this. Because I'm going to say where I am.
I live in Southampton and honeslty apart from masks, odd shops starting to squirt sanitiser on our hands it all feels normal.
Fair amount of traffic. (expected school run times etc)
Parks are rammed.
Shops are busy, no distancing

I went to home bargains today and it was packed, Literally couldn't move.
And yes I was doing the same as everyone else. I'm not complaining I'm just saying how it felt normal.

Apart from one person on my fb who shares covid info everyday and is very by the rule. Everyone else seems to be still seeing people in groups, in and outdoors. Photos in pubs when they were open in huggy groups. Etc

I'm not perfect, I've gone out for non essentials for Xmas because I don't want to be I that manic rush in Dec.

I just feel its pretty normal if it wasn't for following the news I could actually belive there wasn't a pandemic.

Is this the same elsewhere?

I live in an area with very low cases although it has risen a bit. I can’t remember the last time I saw someone in a shop without a mask ( apart from older men who seem completely averse to mask wearing and social distancing ) The roads are very quiet but the car park at the local woods has been busy . A lot of people are working from home .

It seems strange really because cases are very low most people don’t know anyone who has had it but there is a very high level of compliance. I have two young adults at home and neither have left the house this week .

You have sort of answered your own question, " i'm not perfect" and "I went to home bargains today" a fair percentage of people are the same hence why it feels like lockdown lite.

This
People are still going out because shops are open, it hasn't felt busy in my town though..
Been people out and about, sure, but definitely hasn't felt busy.
Very rare to see people without a mask too as everyone seems to be wearing one.

I'm in Liverpool and I agree with XiCi.
No garden bqqs in my area which has a mixed age range. Nor have I heard of any such thing among my friends. Most WFH and very few of us are allowed in our offices.
Don't see many without masks.
I would agree that students are a real problem.
I have been for a test and intend to go again. Most people I know have been tested, all negative.
There have only been around 420 positives from the 90,000 tested

Nothing feels normal where I am.

I am not allowed to go to my normal work place. I am not supposed to go on public transport. My hours may be permanently slashed.

There are Qs outside shops, lines on the floor where to stand, one way systems in shops. Plexiglass screens everywhere.

Most the shops are closed. The town centre feels empty.

Lots of neighbours outside walking in pairs (couples). The neighbours can't see their much loved grandchildren.

DS has complicated rules to follow at school. He has to plan how to avoid getting very cold, the school has ditched streaming. He wears PE kit all day on PE days.

I'm part of the school PTA: we have almost no ways to do fund raising.

I have Lots of online meetings. There are lots of telecon tech hiccups.
I had almost never telecon'd at all, 1 year ago. I had a job interview the other day online (a first).

I do some volunteer work for a lonely vulnerable person: they can't invite me in for a cuppa.

My parents can't realistically travel to see me. They are isolated in their own home & argue if my dad socialises at all (he is an extremely social person, and very bored about going out so little).

I can't go swimming. DH can't go do cycling club runs, races or visit his parents. Park run is cancelled until further notice.

I suppose our family diet is the closest thing to 'normal'. Everything else is not.

Starfish

Unfortunately I think the low positive reflects the demographics of those tested

Half the centres are empty and seeing pictures and speaking to those who’ve been, it’s largely the over 60s and those not mixing at work who’ve been for tests - these are the least likely to be passing asymptomatically

@Christmaspud20 - I’m southampton too and agree it’s very busy. Traffic is as usual. It doesn’t feel normal though with everything shut but yes its business as usual it seems. I still have to drive round and Round Sainsburys car park to find a space!

@myhobbyisouting

Did you go to the pub/restaurant/cinema/theatre/mums house/swimming/gym/shoe shop/bookshop?
This.

The only difference I could see when we were in tier 3 was that people captioned their gatherings 'socially distanced get together' when they were in a group with their arms round each other Confused

A girl I know made a big song and dance on the lead up to her daughters socially distanced 1st birthday party, but there were loads of guests passing the baby round and posing for pics in different groups (ie not households) and they'd each taken an item for the buffet - just to make sure everyone was eating at least one item prepared in a house by someone else.

People seem to think if they write 'socially distanced' it's safe. But I can't see any difference!!

We're in north Hampshire and totally different here. Shops c&c only, petrol stations pay at pump only. Tesco was busy but that's all.High street deserted.
Seen no-one this weekend, most seem to have battened down, Even runners/cyclists put off by rain.
