Stuffy nose, stingy throat, knackered and... one itchy big toe!

I'm going mad, aren't I?

Yes, you’re going mad! You have none of the symptoms needed to book a test.

Q. Do you have an actual symptom of covid?

If yes: Get a test

If no: Don't get a test.

I had one itchy big toe (right foot) with a stuffy nose.

I had the same dilemma but this was during the time when tests were like chicken's teeth so thought it incredibly selfish to isolate the house and use up a test.

We have all gone a little doo-lally recently.

If your 3 itchy toes develop blisters or red swellings, test.

Covid toes is a genuine symptom. There are a lot more symptoms than the 3 listed for testing.

Get a test. The itchy toes, whilst not on the list of symptoms requiring a test, is definitely a covid symptom. Don't wait for blisters.

If you are spending your own money, have as many tests as you like.

If you're planning on lying to get one on the NHS service, don't.

Have I given any indication that I was planning on lying?!?

The ZOE app has, in fact, told me to go for a test. Not cos they think I have it necessarily but because they are monitoring people with particular symptoms. Now I feel torn!

I’d Zoe app asks you to test, it’s good to take part in the study.

I'm assuming you're part of the Zoe app to help scientists learn more about this virus. Go and get tested to help with the research.

The ZOE app has, in fact, told me to go for a test.

So why wouldn’t you?

Because there never seem to be enough slots and it feels wrong to waste one.

Totally asymptotic here. Had test Wednesday through key worker system. My two children who had no key symptoms either also tested. Today we all got POSITIVE results.

Its NOT a waste. It's research & testing that will help others, that's the point of the trials.

Plus it'll save you passing it on if you are positive.

Whereabouts (regionally) are you? Testing capacity has been increased massively by me (Essex way).

I would say test but then I’m of the opinion everyone who wants one should get one and capacity should be raised not ring fenced.

If Zoe has asked you to get a test then you shouldn’t feel bad about getting one. The government has allocated them a specific amount to use as they see fit so you wouldn’t be depriving anyone else of a test. Also my hospital has, this week, asked that any member of staff or anyone in their household displaying any respiratory symptoms (colds, sore throats, snotty nose included) or general aches and feeling ill isolate and test.

There are three main symptoms to definitely test for in the UK but that’s a very short list out of a very long list of known covid presentations. They’ve literally just gone with the three most common symptoms.

I had all those symptoms except the itchy toes and I got a positive result yesterday. If it doesn’t feel right, get tested.
