Fed up of DD getting the symptoms

She's nearly two and has had 3 covid tests since September and now has a fever again, I really don't want to have to take her to be swabbed again (the last was a week ago!) but I'm just starting a new job and DP is a keyworker working from home, we need her to go to nursery so can't just isolate.

Anyone else having to test their child often?

Bit late for a reply I know..... But if it makes you feel any better the staff at our local testing centre great me and DD like old friends now. She is just very prone to coughs. It sucks but what can you do?

We had a run of tests in the first term of the school year as every little bug seemed to go to dd’s chest. She’d just be over one cough and then start with another a couple of weeks later.

I spoke to the GP because I was concerned about her missing more school as well as the whole rigmarole of getting tested as well as isolating and she agreed to a course of antibiotics to knock any stubborn underlying infection on the head. If that didn’t work we would have looked into a possible asthma diagnosis.

Luckily the antibiotics seemed to do the trick (or it was coincidence) but the GP was very supportive of looking into it to avoid getting caught up in covid restrictions even though in normal times I wouldn’t have even thought about going to the GP for a run of mild coughs. It’s worth a chat with your GP to see if they would be supportive of a similar approach although it might be more difficult with temperatures.

Thanks. She has always had a lot of coughs so we had seen the doc a couple of years back. He said asthma sounded likely (but can't diagnose properly at that age) so she has an inhaler which does help.
