Non essential items

Are non essential items being sold in supermarkets/ the range/ home bargains etc...?
I don't really want this turning in to a debate about if they should. I am just simply asking a question to help me decide where to head. Will also tie in with a food shop.

Yes. I've picked up Xmas decorations in asda and home bargains the last few days whilst in there for food/pet stuff

I went to Sainsbury's yesterday and everything was accessible. No cordons anywhere.

Thank you both, that is good to know.

Yes and we were specifically told by the Govt that we can buy anything that is on sale in shops that are allowed to open (and not just essentials).
I don't think that means we should specifically go browsing for non-essential but that, if the shop sells them and we are in there buying essentials, we can buy non-essentials too.

Our local Tesco has closed off the upstairs from midnight last night which is clothes/electrical etc as apparently they are not allowed to have upstairs open only the ground floor for essentials such as food. Someone commented and said marks and Spencer’s have done the same.

I went to Sainsbury’s this morning for an eye test. No queues, everything for sale and all the Christmas stuff out.
Then drove home and the roads are only slightly quieter than pre-Thursday.
